MPO appoints new manager
The Milk Producers’ Organisation (MPO) has appointed Etienne Terre’Blanche as new managing director with effect from 10 April 2007. Previously, Terre’Blanche was co-owner and director of Brent Chemicals in the Cape. As chief executive officer he was responsible for establishing all the facets of Ecolab’s services to the dairy and food industry in Southern and South Africa, as well as Europe.

According to Bertus de Jongh, chief executive officer of Mposa, this appointment will ensure the expansion of the MPO’s member services.

Terre’Blanche regards today’s dairy producer as a businessman with all that it implies. “Today’s dairy producer is looking for a ‘partner’ who has his interests at heart and who he can trust. Besides his need for business support which the MPO already offers him, the MPO must also meet his need for back-up. I aim to focus my attention on that aspect.”
