What is The Dairy Mail?

The Dairy Mail is an award-winning magazine from the stable of publisher and media company, Agri Connect. The magazine was awarded a Sappi Pica Award in 2003 and in 2004 it was Highly Commended. It received the Sappi Pica Premier Award 2005 Best Business-to-business Magazine: Watling Trophy, as well as a Sappi Pica Award 2005. This feat was repeated in 2006, when The Dairy Mail again scooped up both awards.

The Dairy Mail saw the light in June 1994 as a humble newsletter of the former Milk Board. Today the glossy A5 magazine is the official mouthpiece of the Milk Producers’ Organisation (MPO) and local milk producers – the only fully-fledged national dairy magazine in South Africa. The Dairy Mail is rated one of the most respected dairy publications in the world!

Aimed primarily at the dairy farmer, it is sent to every commercial dairy farmer in the country, as well as to opinion-shapers in the secondary industry, state departments, universities and other dairy experts. Through its quarterly supplements, Ubisi Mail and Dairy Mail Africa respectively, the needs of emerging and established dairy farmers and industry in Africa, are also addressed.

The Dairy Mail is a bilingual publication consisting mainly of concise articles and news on topics that are of interest to dairy producers, such as genetics, animal health, industry, trade information, processing and local dairy-political issues. The supplements are published in English.

The Dairy Mail also reports on the activities of the various MPO sister companies, namely Agri Inspec, AgriBonus, Agri Travel and Tours and the Intervet MPO Institute for Dairy Technology. It also reports extensively on the regional MPOs and other relevant MPO news.
