Milk production during May 2010 is 5,5% higher than in May 2009. Production during 2009 is 3,3% less than during 2008. Less dairy products were imported during 2009 than during 2008 (-3,3%). Exports decreased by 2,3% compared to 2008. Producer prices are higher than during the same month in 2008. The department of agriculture’s farm requisite price index for January 2010 is 7,8% higher than during January 2009. Dairy Digits is a Milk SA publication.
